Shame on Milinkevich

I can't believe what this clown is saying.

«Перемены происходят, когда на улицы выходит намного больше людей. Тогда не надо идти к резиденции… Нужно просто стоять, и власть сама убежит»

We just have to stand there, and the government will run away. Yeah, right. That's what dictatorial governments do. They voluntarily run away when they see people gather. Maybe I took it out of context? Here's the full paragraph:

«Перемены происходят, когда на улицы выходит намного больше людей. Тогда не надо идти к резиденции… Нужно просто стоять, и власть сама убежит»

Changes happen when a lot of people gop out on the street. Then we don't have to go to the residence [of president Lukashenka]. We just have to stay there, and [those in] power will run away.

"Cама" means voluntarily. What a wonderful world does this man live in!

It's a big shame that the brave Belarusians who were risking their health, their freedom, and their very lives didn't have a better leader than this guy - and no, I don't think Kozulin was better as a leader, though it's a big shame he's in prison. It is obvious Milinkevich and Co weren't planning to take power. It is obvious that he's not planning it now, and even if he were, it wouldn't matter: nobody will follow him anymore. Neither him nor other professional "oppositioners", who make a living out of pretending to fight the regime.
